Join us for a double Daze celebration during the closing week of our exhibition Chris "DAZE" Ellis: The City is My Muse.  We’ll launch the artist's new book, DAZEWORLD: The Artwork of Christopher Daze Ellis(Schiffer Publishing), which presents the illustrated story of his thirty-year career, from the New York City subways and "Graffiti High" (New York's High School of Art and Design), to international studios and galleries. Daze will be joined by noted graffiti writer Jay “J.SON” Edlin and essayist Claire Schwartz, both contributors to the book, for remarks.  Drinks and light refreshments will be served, the City is My Muse gallery will be open late, and books will be available for purchase and signing.

Street Art Stories: BSA in conversation with Swoon and DAZE Wednesday, March 2 at 6:30 pm /  by Christopher Ellis

Ephemeral, often anonymous, and characterized by countless styles and techniques, street art appeals directly to passersby in often unexpected places, and on digital devices globally. Join for a conversation about the influence of the city on the storytelling of street artists and graffiti artists -- and how that influence is reflected in the work as it moves into galleries and museums.

Steven Harrington, Editor-in-Chief, and Jaime Rojo, Editor of Photography, founders of BrooklynStreetArt.com, which has been documenting street art around the world for nearly a decade.
DAZE, a graffiti and street artist in New York since the late 1970s, whose work is currently on view at the Museum in Chris “Daze” Ellis: The City is My Muse.
Caledonia Curry (aka SWOON) exhibits her work at museums around the world.  In 2014, she had a solo exhibition, Submerged Motherlands, at the Brooklyn Museum.

In October 2015 I was the recipient of an artist-in-residency from the Villa Lena Art Foundation. My activities included working in a provided studio and creating a large scale mural in collaboration with students from the local school in Palaia.
